Demographic survey: real estate trends among 25-35 year-olds

Nearly half of Canadians between the ages of 25 and 35 own their own home; a quarter of them have purchased their property since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

52% say that teleworking has increased the likelihood that they will move further away from their place of work

  • 68% of non-owners aged 25-35 plan to buy a property within the next five years
  • 72% of this cohort are confident about their short-term financial prospects
  • Savings for 40% of this cohort have increased since mid-March
